Our Blossoms Cottage caters for children aged 0 to 2 years in a warm and friendly open plan setting. The cottage consists of an open plan room and outdoor area, two cot rooms and a changing area.
The children are nurtured and supported by qualified educators who develop close relationships with the children and their families to ensure that the child’s routine from home is closely reflected in the care environment.
There is a strong emphasis on attachment theory within the Blossoms room. The children are supported in building secure attachments with the educators to ensure a smooth settling in process for both the child and parent. This also supports the child’s social and emotional development and gives them a secure base from which they can explore and learn.
Children’s learning is based on their individual development and interests within the main key areas of development;
Cognitive
Physical
Communication
Social-emotional.
Activities are sensory based, stimulating the five senses and developing strong connections in the brain as children begin to learn about themselves and the world around them.
Each day the educators share information about the child’s day through discussion, daily diaries, photographs and information sheets ensuring a smooth transition between the setting and home.
