Tours need be pre booked in advance during which all the relevant information about our service, programs, fees, policies etc. can be discussed.


    My family Lounge has a free app available for Apple and Android devices. Simply search for My Family Lounge in your app store and enter your email and password. The app allows you to book your child in for casual days at the centre, mark absences and change your payment details. Please note, all other enrolment information is required to be made on a computer.

    Yes, you manage your own account by logging into My Family Lounge and pressing ‘Change’ for your Name, Email, Email Settings and Password.

    Yes, through the My Family Lounge App.

    We also require an email to advise of any absences that are made on the day of care.

    You will receive an email with your statement each Friday and fees are charged the following Monday for that week’s care.

    All casual booking fees will be deducted the same day that the booking request has been accepted by the service.

    You need to email the service to cancel your permanent booking.

    You can update your payment details through the My Family Lounge App whenever you need. Please note if a payment has already been uploaded into the old account we cannot change the payment.

    Yes, as long as you don’t have a booking on the same day.

    If you do not attend a service for more than 8 weeks your rebates, Centrelink will cease your enrolment.

    Please email ncooper@childrenservices.onmicrosoft.com so we can resubmit the enrolment and then you can reconfirm through my gov (Please note: this will change to 14 weeks after the 13 Jan 2020)

    You may not have provided both your child’s and your own Centrelink Customer Reference Numbers or,
    You may not have accepted the enrolment through My Gov portal my.gov.au which can be done in the My Gov App or on a computer.

    A new enrolment through the My Family Lounge is required for each child care service. However, you can use the same email address and password.

    The enrolment process through “My Family Lounge” requires a computer and will not work on a mobile phone or tablet.

    The minimum days required to enroll is two. This gives the child a chance to build a relationship with the educators and become familiar with the setting.

    Yes we have a Preschool School Readiness Program based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the NSW Kindergarten Curriculum. Please visit the Preschool section in the Our cottages tab or the Preschool School Readiness Framework link under the Curriculum tab.

    Yes. Our fantastic team of educators are all qualified as Early Childhood Educators or Early Childhood Teachers. They hold a range of qualifications including;

    BA (Hons) Primary Education and Training
    BA (Hons) Early Years
    Bachelor of Teaching 0-5
    Diploma of Children’s Services
    Certificate III in Children’s Services

    Yes. Our educators are trained in Emergency First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

    Bedding (if your child sleeps)

    Please clearly label all of your child’s belongings to avoid any confusion.

    Anything that your child can get messy in. The children participate in a range of activities including paint, glue and other messy fun. Although we try our best to protect children’s clothing we ask that you please bring your child in clothing that they can get messy in.

    The first step to enrolling is to complete a waitlist form which can be downloaded from the contact us section of the website. Once we receive your waitlist application we will contact you to discuss availability and book a tour of the centre. You may also book a tour directly through the link in the top left hand corner of the home page. During the tour we will discuss all aspects of our service and answer any questions you may have. Providing there is availability you can then enroll with the centre by completing the relevant enrollment forms. Once we receive the completed enrollment forms and bond we will then confirm your place is secure.

    We encourage families to book in play sessions with us prior to their child’s first day at Shadforth Cottage. These play sessions last for around an hour at a time and are a great opportunity for parents to talk with the educators, and for the children to explore their new environment with the security of Mum or Dad close by. This is beneficial for everyone as we establish a relationship based on trust and open communication.
