



Our Gumnuts Cottage caters for children aged between 2 and 3 years of age. The cottage consists of an open plan room, accessible children’s bathroom, dining room and outdoor area.
The learning environment within this room provides a wide range of experiences for the children each day which stimulates their natural curiosity and excitement. The qualified educators combine the children’s care routines with an educational program based on the children’s individual development and interests. The educational program focuses on the key areas of learning;
There is a strong emphasis on social-emotional and physical development within the Gumnuts room. The children are encouraged and supported in developing their independence, social behaviour, and self-help skills including toilet training.
Our curriculum is delivered through a balance of teacher directed experiences and child initiated learning. The environment is deliberate and purposeful whilst also offering opportunities for teacher initiated activities where children are given space and time to reflect on, revisit and navigate their own learning through a range of resources and experiences.
The Gumnuts children come together throughout the day to have group singing, story or music activities. These are often linked to other learning experiences in order to provide a greater context for the children’s learning. The children also participate in extracurricular activities GrowFit and Yoga.
